St. Michaels Hospital APEX Labs System Downtime Saturday, 24th January 2026

Dear colleagues,

Please be advised that the Apex / iLabs application will undergo a scheduled server upgrade on Saturday, 24th January 2026. This essential and unavoidable maintenance is required to support laboratory IT system performance and long-term stability.

 

The upgrade will require a planned daytime downtime of approximately 4–5 hours. The last test orders will need to be received by the laboratory by 11:00.

Apex will be unavailable from 11:45 to approximately 16:00.

 

During this period, the laboratory will operate a limited service and will only be able to process urgent specimens. For urgent specimens analysed during the downtime, critical results will be communicated by phone.

 

Historical results will not be available on Clinical Portal or Apex during this time. Historical results for orders placed via Maxims will remain available in Maxims.

 

The Apex login process will change once the new Apex system is installed. Please see HERE for further details.
