Visiting guidelines

We welcome all visitors to St. Michael’s Hospital particularly as they can have a very positive and beneficial impact on the health and well-being of our patients – which is our main concern. However, please make sure to respect the designated visiting hours and follow a few recommended visiting guidelines.

Daily visiting hours

14.00 – 16.00
18.30 – 20.30

Recommended visiting time is twenty minutes and no more than two persons should visit at any one time. Patients have the right to decline visitors and visiting hours may be extended for compassionate reasons.

The clinical nurse manager can request that visitors leave if the number present or the length of the visit is likely to hinder your care.

Additional restrictions will apply from time to time e.g. during outbreaks of infectious diseases. Your relatives and friends are requested not to visit if they have sore throats, flu, vomiting and/or diarrhoea or other infections, because of the risk of introducing infection to the ward.

Protected mealtimes help create a quiet, relaxed atmosphere for patients to enjoy their meal.   As a result, during mealtimes, visiting is restricted to those visitors and carers who are actively assisting patients with their meals.
