Wound Management Service

Introduction

This nurse led clinic is facilitated by tissue viability specialists. They provide a Monday to Friday appointment only clinic from 8:00am to 3:30pm. All referrals are managed through the emergency department. Education is given to staff, patients and family members relating to the appropriate care of wounds. Tissue viability services are also provided at ward level, which includes pressure injury prevention, skin assessment, and application of negative pressure and education at ward level to staff on these issues. Care is also given to people with diabetes.

This service is targeted towards non-medical card holders who have been referred from the healthcare group
