Urology

The Department of Urology provides a full range of clinical services covering the entire specialty of adult urology. Urology relates to the investigation and treatment of conditions such as prostate disease, urinary tract stones, urinary tract infections, blood in the urine, and other problems relating to the urinary tract.

Services                     

The urology nurse specialist will see patients who are referred by the medical teams.

  • We provide an efficient service for the patient with a high focus on continuity of care, patient safety and quality.
  • We provide education and support for patients and family/carer while an inpatient, and liaise with the community for patients after discharge.
  • We provide education and training for community healthcare professionals.
  • Advice and support are also provided for patients with prostate, bladder and other urological cancers.

When patients are referred to the Urology Outpatient Clinic they may be seen by the Urology Nurse Specialist in the Urolflow/ Prostate assessment clinic, prior to seeing the Consultant Urologist,  Kieran Breen.
