Nursing

The Nursing Department in St. Michael’s Hospital, led by Karen Sweeney, endeavour to provide a quality support to our nursing staff. We are proud of the esteem in which we are held within the community and it is our aim to continue to give the best possible care and service.

Nursing is constantly evolving and modernising and we are motivated to meet this challenge by offering education in nursing skills through regular courses and study days which promote the improvement of care using the latest techniques.

St. Michael’s Hospital, in association with University College Dublin, continues to provide nurse training by providing a BSc. in Nursing degree. A number of these students become part of the nurse complement in the hospital and progress to specialist areas in their chosen field.
