Catering Department – Part Time, Permanent Position

27 hours per week

3pm to 9pm – Monday to Friday

2pm to 9pm – Saturday & Sunday

Applications are invited for the position of Kitchen Porter & Evening Tea Service:

  • Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the entire kitchen when food preparation has ended
  • Maintaining the food storage areas e.g. cold rooms and dry food storage areas
  • Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen
  • Washing dishes, cutlery, pots, chopping boards etc. and loading into the potwasher
  • Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
  • Providing tea/snack service to A&E, and in-patients.

Key Requirements for the Position:

  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
  • Flexibility to work additional hours if required
  • Empathy with vulnerable patients
  • Certificate in Primary Food Hygiene/ good understanding of the principles of HACCP
  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable
